- Causes invasive fungal infections in the lungs of immunocompromised patients, especially CGD and hematopoietic stem cell transplant patients
- Can also cause disseminated disease
- May be treated with posaconazole, voriconazole, caspofungin, or combination therapy
- Can be resistant to amphotericin B
- Mortality is about 40%
