    • MCHC increased in HS and Hb SS
    • MCH decreased in hypochromic anemias
    • RDW increased in iron deficiency, reticulocytosis, blood transfusion
  • Reticulocyte count (normally 1-2%)

  • Ferritin, transferrin saturation
  • Vitamin B12
  • SPEP, and UPEP or serum free light chains
