- Found in dairy products, especially cheeses
- Closely related to Candida guilliermondii and often misidentified as it, but may also be misidentified as Candida caribbica, Candida haemulonii, Candida lusitaniae, and Candida palmioleophila
- Often requires molecular testing to distinguish it from other species
Clinical Manifestations
- Rare cause of infections in humans
- A few case reports of candidemia
