Background
- Gram-positive coccus related to Enterococcus
- Found in fish or animals, such as pigs, cattle, cats, and horses
Clinical Manifestations
- Skin and soft tissue infection, odontogenic infection, peritonitis, meningitis, bacteremia, and infective endocarditis
Management
- The ideal empiric treatment is unknown
- May be susceptible to ampicillin, ceftraixone, TMP-SMX, and vancomycin
- May be resistant to clindamycin and fluoroquinolones
