Interpretation

  • Day 1 ≥4: needs TEE
  • Day 1 <4: reassess at day 5
    • Day 5 ≥2 (community-onset or CIED or prolonged bacteremia): needs TEE
    • Day 5 <2 (nosocomial or healthcare-associated without CIED and bacteremia resolves quickly): can defer TEE
