Microbiology
- Genus of Gram-negative bacilli or coccobacilli
- Previously referred to as CDC pink coccoid groups I through IV
- Catalase and oxidase positive
- Pigmented, either pink or purple-pink
- Species of possible clinical importance include:
- Roseomonas gilardii subspecies gilardii (usually clinically important) and rosea
- Roseomonas cervicalis
- Roseomonas mucosa
Clinical Manifestations
- Bacteremia
- Central line infection
- Intraabdominal abscess
- Respiratory tract infection
- Urinary tract infection
Management
- Generally susceptible to aminoglycosides, tetracycline, and imipenem, and possibly fluoroquinolones
