Background
- Genus of aerobic, non-motile, non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli within the family Flavobacteriaceae
- Yellow pigmentation
- Characteristic fruity odor
- Ubiquitous environmental organisms
- Species include:
- Myroides odoratum, a rare cause of cellulitis and bacteremia
- Myroides odoratimimus, an even more rare cause of infection in humans
Clinical Manifestations
- Rarely causes infections in humans

Management
- Complicated by chromosomal metallo-β-lactamases (TUS-1 and MUS-1), which confer resistance of β-lactams, monobactams, and carbapenems
