Differential Diagnosis
- Any non-pregnancy cause of fever
- Viral
- Non-specific viral infections including viral gastroenteritis
- Influenza
- Rubella
- Bacterial
Investigations
- The usual infection investigations: CBC, electrolytes, creatinine, blood +/- urine cultures, NP swab if the right season, other investigations depending on clinical context
- Make sure to get liver enzymes and urinalysis for non-infectious pregnancy complications
- Consider CXR if there are respiratory symptoms
- Fetal non-stress test
Management
- Supportive care
- Treat underlying cause
