Alefacept

• Human fusion protein of LFA-3 and IgG1
• Binds CD2, thereby inhibiting T cell activation and proliferation, as well as inducing apoptosis in memory T cells
  • Causes lymphopenia
• Indications include psoriasis
• Infectious complications include upper respiratory tract infections, HSV, VZV, hepatitis C virus, influenza, pneumonia, gastroenteritis, cellulitis, and possibly NTM
• Contraindicated in HIV
