Background

  • Nonfermentative Gram-negative bacillus within the genus Acinetobacter
  • Formerly Acinetobacter calcoaceticus var. lwoffii and Mima polymorpha
  • Normal flora of human skin, oropharynx, and perineum

Clinical Manifestations

  • Occasionally causes opportunistic infections
