Differential Diagnosis

Clinical Manifestations

  • Primary/clonal more likely if:
    • Digital ischemia
    • Cerebrovascular ischemia
    • Large-vessel thrombosis
    • Bleeding
    • Splenomegaly
    • Giant platelets

Investigations

  • Labs
    • CBC
    • Peripheral film, for platelet size
    • ESR/CRP, rule out underlying inflammatory disorder
