Background

Mechanism of Activity

• Uses siderophore iron transport system to enter cell, where it acts as a cephalosporin

Spectrum of Activity

• Active against all Ambler class beta-lactamases, including carbapenemases
• Active against Acinetobacter, Enterobacterales, Pseudomonas, Burkholderia, and Stenotrophomonas
• Not active against Gram-positive bacteria

Dosing

• Cefiderocol 2 g IV q8h, infused over 3 hours
