Gabapentin

• Anti-epileptic medication used off-label for a number of indications
• Indications include epilepsy, post-herpetic neuralgia, and diabetic neuropathy
• Half-life 5-7 hours
• Requires renal adjustment
• Adverse effects include CNS depression, respiratory depression, and death (particularly when used with other CNS depressants)
• Also commonly causes edema, somnolence, dizziness, ataxia, and depression
