• Mechanism of action is as a small-molecule inhibitor of the conserved fungal Gwt1 protein, which is required for acylation of inositol during glycosylphosphatidylinositol anchor biosynthesis
• Prodrug is fosmanogepix
• Active against Candida (except Candida krusei), Aspergillus, Cryptococcus neoformans, and other molds (such as Fusarium and Scedosporium
