Presentation

  • History
    • Fever
    • Rash
    • Arthralgias

Management

  • High-dose NSAIDs
  • May need aggressive rheumatology medications for arthritis
  • Supportive treatment

Prognosis

  • 12% risk of chronic arthralgias up to 3 years post-infection
  • Neonates and elderly at highest risk for neurological sequelae
