• Screening assessment for delirium
• Compared to assessment by a psychiatrist, has a sensitivity of 94-100% and specificity of 90-95%

Criteria

• Acute change in mental status with fluctuating course, and
• Inattention, and
• Either of the following:
  • Disorganized thinking, or
  • Altered level of consciousness
