Background
- Anaerobic, non-sporulating, Gram-positive bacillus
Clinical Manifestations
- Most commonly associated with GI tract illness or with infected sacral ulcer
- Can either be monomicrobial (including disseminated infection) or, more commonly, polymicrobial with an intraabominal infection
