Imiquimod

Background

• TLR7 ± TLR8 agonist
• Used to treat anogenital warts

Dosing

• 5% cream applied topically nightly every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then washed off after 6 to 10 hours, continued to resolution of lesions
• 3.75% cream applied topically nightly, then washed off after 8 hours, continued for up to 8 weeks

Safety

Adverse Drug Reactions

• Cutaneous drug reactions are common, with itching, burning, erythema, erosions, and edema
  • More common with 5% than 3.75%
  • Must be washed off after 6 to 10 hours
