Contingency management

• Also called motivational incentives
• The goal is to reduce the positive reinforcement from the substance while increasing positive reinforcement from healthier behaviours
• Uses things like vouchers orpoints to reward staying in treatment and remaining drug-free
  • Vouchers are sometimes exchangable for items or money
• Some evidence that it can decrease stimulant use but doesn't necessarily affect dropout rate
