Background

  • Antistaphylococcal semisynthetic beta-lactam antibiotic
  • Spectrum: active against MSSA; not active against gram-negatives or enterococci

Dosing

  • Standard: 2 g IV q6h
  • High dose (for critical illness, IE, or CNS penetration: 2 g IV q4h

Renal Dosing

  • No adjustments necessary
