Background
- Therapeutic manoeuvre for BPPV
Procedure
- Sit patient upright and rotate head 45° towards ear being treated
- Lay back quickly with head over the back of the table; this should cause nystagmus and is essentially a Dix-Hallpike manoeuvre
- Hold for 30 seconds
- Rotate head 90° so it is rotated 45° the other way
- Hold for 30 seconds
- Turn their body and head further, so that they are in lateral decubitus with the head facing 45° towards the ground
