Background
Microbiology
- Gram-negative bacillus
- Also known as Comamonas acidovorans or Pseudomonas acidovorans
- Found in soil, water and the hospital environments
- May be found in respiratory tract, eyes, and blood, but rarely clinically significant
Clinical Manifestations
- Only rarely causes infection
- Case reports of pulmonary infections , bacteremia from line infection, endocarditis; even more rarely, case reports of peritonitis, ocular infections, and urinary tract infection1
