Pathophysiology
- Tau inclusions, Pick bodies, and neurofibrillary tangles
Clinical Presentation
- Typically begins with impaired judgement, poor mood, and difficult behaviours
- Memory often intact
- 15% of patients assessed have ALS!
Behavioural variant
- behavioural disinhibition, apathy or inerta, loss of sypathy or empathy, perservative, sterotyped or compulsive/ritualistic behaviour, hyperorality and dietary change
Language variant
- Language variant: prominent decline in language ability or meaning of words
Management
Symptomatic management.
