Background
- Found in dry and dusty soil
- Makes red pigment, hence the name
- Member if the actinomycetes group
- Infects domesticated animals
- Horses
- In foals, causes pneumonia
- Goats
- Pigs
- Sheep
- Cattle
- Horses
- Can infect immuneocompromised people (HIV, etc)
