Background

Microbiology

  • Gram-positive bacillus that is distinguished from other Bacillus species by being non-motile and non-hemolytic

Clinical Manifestations

Cutaneous anthrax

  • Caused by inoculation of spores into soft tissue
  • Incubation period of 2 to 5 days
