- Colonies have typical "fried-egg" appearance

- Treatment is with gentamicin, streptomycin, doxycycline, ciprofloxacin, TMP-SMX, chloramphenicol
- Beta-lactam antibiotics may appear effective in vitro but are not reliable in vivo
