Management
- Antimicrobial selection as per the management of osteomyelitis
- Following complete explantation, 4 to 6 weeks of IV antibiotics
- With retained hardware, 6 weeks of IV followed by stepdown to oral therapy for another 3 to 6 months (or lifelong suppression)
