Background

Clinical Manifestations

  • Presents as a non-resolving pneumonia associated with inhaled or aspirated oil
  • Cough, dyspnea, and fever, and occasionally weight loss, chest pain, and hemoptysis
  • May be acute following aspiration of a large amount of oil, or chronic with repeated exposures over time

Differential Diagnosis
