Dosing
Heart Failure
- Nitroglycerin 10 to 20 mcg/min IV infusion, increase by 5 to 10 mcg/min every 3 to 5 minutes as blood pressure tolerates
- Maximum dose 200 mcg/min
- Nitroglycerin 400 mcg translingual every 5 to 10 minutes
- Monitor blood pressure and decrease dose if SBP <90 mmHg
- Tolerance develops within 24 to 48 hours, so should only be used for short-term therapy
