Differential Diagnosis

  • Diphtheria
  • Mononucleosis: doesn't bleed when removed
  • Streptococcal pharyngitis: higher fever, more intense pharyngitis
  • C. ulcerans: essentially diphtheria
  • Tularemia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Vincent's angina
  • Bacterial epiglottitis (faucial)
