Management
- Unclear
- Often have concomitant DVT or PE
- ACCP guidelines suggest supportive care with anticoagulation if
- Close proximity to deep venous system
- Involvement above knee
- Severe symptoms
- Other risk factors
- Active cancer
- Immobility
- History of VTE
- Absence of varicose veins
- Male gender
- Treat with prophylactic-dose LMWH or fondaparinux for 45 days/6 weeks
