Definition
- Enteral feeding/venting tube placed percutaneously from left upper abdomen into stomach body
- Includes percutaneous endoscopically-assisted gastrostomy (PEG) tubes, which are inserted with the aid of a Gastroenterologist who performs gastroscopy to guide the insertion of the tube from outside
Management
- Initiation of feeds
- 4 hours after insertion for water and medications
- 24 hours for feeds
