Dog Bites
- Must cover Capnocytophagia canimorsus
Cat Bites
- Must cover Pasteurella multocida and Staphylococcus aureus
- First-line: amox/clav
- Alternatives:
- Cefuroxime 500 mg po q12h
- Doxycycline 100 mg po bid
- If only Pasteurella is isolated, can treat with penicillin alone
Human Bites
- Must cover Eikonella
