  • Also known as marantic or Libman-Sacks endocarditis
  • Rare
  • Associated with advanced malignancy in 80% of cases followed by lupus
    • Other associated diseases include antiphospholipid syndrome, rheumatic arthritis, sepsis, and burns
  • Fever is uncommon
  • Embolizes to spleen, kidney, skin, and extremities, as well as to CNS and coronary arteries
