  • Gram-negative bacillus within the genus Mixta
  • Previously known as Pantoea calida
  • Environmental organism
  • A few published case reports of infections in humans: wound infection, meningitis, bacteremia, defibrillator infection1
  • In the case reports, mostly susceptible to routine beta lactams and other routine antibiotics1, though there are also case reports of carbapenem resistance2
