- At least one cognitive domain affected (complex attention, executive function, learning and memory, language, perceptual-motor, social cognition), but preserved ADLs and iADLs and no other cause identified
- Major neurocognitive disorder (dementia)
- Same as above but with impairment of ADLs or iADLs
- Delirium
