Loeffler endocarditis

Background
- Restrictive cardiomyopathy caused by hypereosinophilic syndrome (including idiopathic)
- Also known as eosinophilic endomyocardial disease and fibroblastic endocarditis
Clinical Manifestations
- Typically presents with heart failure (dyspnea, fatigue, orthopnea, paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea)
- Persistent hypereosinophilia (greater than 1.5 on 2 measurements)
