Haemophilus aegyptius

• Gram-negative bacillus within the genus Haemophilus
  • Really just a strain/biogroup of Haemophilus influenzae
• Indole-negative and unable to ferment xylose
• Causes conjunctivitis and Brazilian purpuric fever (epidemic purpura fulminans after conjunctivitis)
