Management
- First-line antibiotics: amoxicillin-clavulanic acid 875/125 mg po BID
- Reliable alternatives that can likely be used empirically1
- Penicillin VK 500 mg po qid
- Amoxicillin 500 mg po tid
- Cefuroxime 500 mg po q12h
- Levofloxacin 750 mg po daily
- Moxifloxacin 400 mg po daily
- Doxycycline 100 mg po bid
- TMP-SMX DS 1 tab po bid
- In vitro resistance to cephalexin, cloxacillin, clindamycin, and erythromycin2
