Background

Epidemiology

  • Associated with ingestion of water plants, classically watercress

Clinical Manifestations

  • Acute: triad of fever, right upper quadrant pain, and high-grade eosinophilia
  • Chronic: largely asymptomatic

Diagnosis

  • Serology is mainstay of diagnosis, especially during acute phase
  • Eventually can see eggs in stool, biliary system, or duodenal aspirate
