Clostridium tertium

• Generally non-pathogenic member of the Clostridium genus
• Present in soil as well as adult, child, and neonatal GI tracts
• Uncommon cause of disease, but has been associated with brain abscess, bacterial meningitis, neutropenic enterocolitis, skin and soft tissue infections, and war wounds
