Anaerobiospirillum succiniciproducens
- Spiral Gram-negative bacillus
- GI flora of cats and dogs
- Rare cases of bacteremia and diarrhea in humans, usually immunocompromised
- Likely susceptible to beta lactams, can be resistant to metronidazole
- Beta lactam/beta lactamase combination is most reliable
- Ceftriaxone likely also reliable
