Alemtuzumab

- Monoclonal IgG1 antibody against CD52
- Induces lysis of lymphoctes and other CD52 cells
- Results in severe and prolonged lymphopenia
- Indications include B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia, T-cell prolymphocytic leukemia, and non-Hodgkin lymphoma
- Infectious complications including severe bacteremia, pneumonia, meningitis, CMV, VZV, HSV, PJP, PML, acanthamebiasis, Balamuthia mandrillaris, toxoplasmosis, histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, aspergillosis, other invasive fungal infections, BK virus, HHV-6, parvovirus, adenovirus, candidiasis, TB, NTM, BCG, and Rhodococcus
- Needs prophylaxis against PJP and herpesviruses for at least 2 months and until CD4 counts are ≥200
